As people consider alternatives from the traditional idea of smoking a cigar with their Whisky, an old idea is becoming more popular. Whisky  pairing with chocolate stimulates the taste senses, allowing the discovery of underlying flavours in your favourite dram.  This is an old idea brought to life by Chocisky™. 

Chocisky directors Stuart Baxter and Peter Jones first became aware of this method for exploring Whisky over 30 years ago. An old distillers' secret told to them, in a hushed voice, in their local Highland pub. Whisky Chocolate pairing is one of the Highland's, if not indeed Scotland’s least known tasting experience.

If you're looking to enhance your traditional Whisky experience and have never tried chocolate pairing, there are a number of reasons you should do so and you just might be glad you did.  Chocisky™ have travelled the world  to identify a range of diverse, authentic chocolate made from the finest ingredients to traditional Chocolate recipies. The Method

Take a small sip and wash the spirit around your palate to familiarise your taste sense to the alcohol. After a few sips you should be able to start discerning underlying flavours in the Whisky. If preferred a few drops of water may also help release volatiles.

Once you feel able to appreciating the flavour of the Whisky take a small tasting disc and let this melt on the tongue - moving around the mouth in order to get the flavours combining together. At this stage you will likely be sensing the new flavour of the chocolate with the lingering flavour of the Whisky.

Take another sip while the chocolate is still melting and you will immediately note how the range of the taste senses has now transformed the taste of the Whisky from start to finish. You will find yourself picking up a whole host of new flavours that completely change and enhance the Whisky drinking experience entirely.
